So, mein Abschlußpäckchen ist in England angekommen und gefällt. Es war schön, Beverley zu beschenken und ich hoffe sehr, daß wir uns im Oktober in London kennenlernen!
Meine Wollprinzessin Regina hat das Abschlußgeschenk auch bekommen. Es hat Spaß gemacht, Deine Wollfee zu sein!
Und weil alles so schön war, habe ich mich gerade bei Secret Pal 8 angemeldet.

The last parcel arrived in England and I think the goodies are welcome. It was a pleasure to spoil Beverley. She’s thinking about to go to the Knitting and Stitching Show in London on October. I hope so she’ll do, it would be great to meet her there!
The last parcel for Wollfee arrived too, it was a funny time and great to spoil Regina!
Because all events were great and exiting I just signed up for Secret Pal 8.

Today the last parcel from my dearest secret pal arrived! I’m so happy, it’s a wonderful parcel:

I took my breath away when I see the wonderful content: a cone of alpaca, so soft and enough for a scarf. A skein of Gotland-wool and two skeins of extra-soft alpaca, hand dyed by a friend of my secret pal, the colors are gorgeous! A book about Stockholm in German for dreaming to make holidays there And wooden needles, they are great!!

My secret pal is Catrin. I had a little suspicion by reading all the SP7 blogs and I was right!

Dear Catrin: Thank you so much for the great SP7-time, it was great to be spoiled by you. You are a great secret pal, I have nominated you for the Best Secret Pal Contest and I hope so you’ll win! This was my first SP, but I enjoyed the time so much that I’ll sign up for SP8 tomorrow. You’re right: it’s a good way to meet other knitters, I love it and I’m sending thousands of best wishes to Sundbyberg!

Bin etwas melancholisch gestimmt: habe heute die Abschlußgeschenke für die Wollfee- und Secret Pal-Aktion auf den Weg gebracht, jetzt ist die aufregende Zeit fast vorbei. Beide Aktionen haben mir viel Freude bereitet, Secret Pal ist ein bißchen aufregender, weil man gleichzeitig noch mit Menschen aus anderen Ländern zu tun hat. Auch der freundliche Mann am Postschalter war etwas traurig als ich ihm auf seine erfreute Äußerung „Ah, wieder ein Päckchen nach England, das machen wir wieder als Brief?“ antwortete, daß es nun erst mal vorbei ist mit Päckchen als Brief nach England zu schicken. Seine Augen flehten zwar nach Erklärung, aber ein Blick auf die samstägliche Schlange hinter mir hielt mich davon ab, dem Mann den Sinn und Zweck eines Secret Pals zu erklären

I’m a little bit melancholic: today I sent the last parcels for Wollfee and Secret Pal. Now the exiting time is nearly over. I’m enjoying both exchanges very much. Perhaps the Secret Pal is a little bit more exiting because you’re in touch with people from other countries: my secret pal taught me Stockholm in postcards, this week arrived another card from her with a picture of a wonderful church. I think she sent cards from every lovely place of her city! And from my spoilee’s blog I learned something about the yarn shops in England!

Auch meine knallig roten Mega Boots Stretch sind fertig geworden, ich finde die Farben einfach klasse!

Aber dieses Wochenende ist nicht nur mit Abschiedsgefühlen belegt, sondern auch mit einem Wiedersehen: morgen rücken diverse strickende und spinnende Damen bei mir an, weswegen ich auch dabei bin, etwas aufzuräumen. Ich freue mich schon sehr!
Und zum Schluß habe ich gerade ausgerechnet, wieviele Maschen mein Reste-Tuch hat, interessierte mich einfach mal. Da ich ja die Anschlagszahl angegeben habe, ist diese Aufgabe zu leicht für einen Wettbewerb – es sind 211.575 Maschen! Mir wird im Nachhinein ganz schlecht

But this weekend will not be dominate only by farewell-feelings. Tomorrow it will be a big reunion here at my home with a few knitting and spinning ladies, I’m looking forward!
At least: I calculated the number of stitches of my leftover-scarf. It was too easy for a challenge. I knitted 211.575 stitches, wow!

postcard from Stockholm

Yesterday another postcard from my Secret Pal (which is the best Secret Pal in whole world) arrived. With these cards she make me such curious about Stockholm that I must go to some day! Up to now I knew Stockholm only from the books by Astrid Lindgren I read all the time when I was child, for example Karlsson or „Ferien auf Saltkrokan“ (I’m sorry, I don’t know the original title, I only know that „Michel“ in the German translation is Emil in Swedish
I’m also glad about the Swedish Post who works perfektly so I receive my postcards punktual at weekend! Dear Secret Pal: thank you so much and have a lovely weekend too!

Tack s� mycket!

Mein zweites Secret Pal Päckchen kam heute an! Was soll ich sagen: ich habe die beste Secret Pal auf der ganzen Welt! Wieder waren wundervolle Sachen darin, ein sehr schöne Karte: Stockholm muß eine tolle Stadt sein! Aber nun schaut selbst, was ich bekommen habe: Edle Pralinen vom Stockholmer Pralinhuset (das hört sich doch schon ganz toll an!). Eine Mütze aus Rowan Cork, das Modell „Elise“ aus dem Rowan Magazine. Die Mütze sieht nicht nur klasse aus, sondern passt auch perfekt! Zwei Stränge graue schwedische Wolle, die sich ganz weich anfühlt. Das Buch „Spin it“, das auf meiner Amazon Wunschliste stand und aus dem ich noch eine Menge zum Thema Handspindel lernen kann. Und noch ein Rezeptheft auf Deutsch mit lauter klassischen schwedischen Rezepten! Das ist alles so toll, ich freue mich riesig! Liebe Secret Pal, danke, danke!!

Today my second secret pal parcel arrived! What’s to say: I have the best secret pal in the whole world! A lot of wonderful things, a lovely card: Stockholm must be a great city! But now look to the goodies: a fine chocolate box from Stockholm’s Pralinhuset (only the sound of this word is wonderful!). A hat from Rowan Cork, �Elise� from Rowan Magazine. The hat looks great and fits perfectly, I love it! Two skeins of gray Swedish wool, very soft. �Spin it� from my amazon wish list, I can learn a lot from this book. And last but not least a small book with Swedish recipes for a real Swedish smorg�s bord! Dear secret pal, thank you so much for the wonderful gifts, I love it all and I love your cards, when you tell me about Stockholm and your life and your walks! I’m very happy about having you as my secret pal!!

Wollte mich doch mal wieder melden. Die Fahrrad-Geschichte liegt mir zwar noch im Magen, ist aber ausgestanden. Nächste Woche werde ich mich mal um ein gebrauchtes Rad kümmern, ein neues ist derzeit nicht drin. Danke für eure verständnisvollen Kommentare und Mails!

Mein kleines Stricktief ist auch vorbei: stricke nun erstmal nichts für mich, bis ich genügend rote Wolle gesponnen habe, damit ich mit der Jacke anfangen kann. Die nächsten 250 g werde ich gleich verzwirnen. In der Zwischenzeit werde ich an diversen Wollfee- und Secret-Pal-Projekten stricken, von denen ich keine kompletten Fotos zeigen kann, aber vielleicht doch ein winzig-kleines? Eines, auf dem man nicht viel erkennt?

My small knitting-low is over: I don’t knit anything for myself until I’ve spun enough red wool so that I can start with the jacket. Later I’ll ply the next 250 g. In meantime I will knit various Wollfee and Secret Pal projects which I cannot show in complete pictures, but perhaps nevertheless a teeny one on which you can hardly recognize the project?

Was für ein schöner Wochenbeginn: heute kam mein erstes Secret Pal-Päckchen an:

Gespannt habe ich es aufgemacht und war überwältigt: so viele schöne Sachen!!

Curiously I opened it and was overwhelmed: so many beautiful things!!

Zuerst eine schöne liebe Karte, dann Wolle!! Wunderschöne Sockenwolle und phantastische Alpaca-Wolle von Garnstudio in einer tollen Farbe, die ist so weich und kuschelig!! Ich werde mir sehr gut überlegen, was ich mir draus stricke! Schwarztee in einer schönen Tüte, mein Secret Pal hat mir geschrieben, das sei ihr Lieblingstee – den werde ich heute Abend gleich probieren! Ganz viel leckere Schokolade, die ich schon probiert habe und als absoluter Hammer ein Knit Bits-Abreißkalender: für jeden Tag ein Spruch/eine Anekdote rund um’s Stricken. Jeden Tag werde ich nun an meine liebe, tolle Secret Pal erinnert!! Vielen Dank!
Der Spruch für heute passt zudem perfekt zu meinem Blog:

I will think very well about what to knit with this great wool! Black tea, my secret pal wrote that’s her favourite tea – I will try it this evening! A lot of yummy chocolate, which I already tried and a Knit Bits-calendar: for each day a knitting aphorism. So now this will remind me each day of my dear and best secret pal!! I thank you so much, you are great!
The aphorism for today goes perfectly with my blog:

Heute habe ich eine riesige und sehr liebe Postkarte aus Schweden von meiner SP bekommen! Das hat mich sehr gefreut, schon einen Tag nach Start etwas von ihr in Händen zu halten!
Today I received a very big and very nice postcard from sweden from my SP! It’s amazing to hold in hand something from you just a day after beginning SP7. Thank you so much!!

Heute war ich bei meinen Eltern, wir haben den 66. Geburtstag meiner Mutter gefeiert. ich habe die Gelegenheit genutzt und alte Schachteln und Alben zu durchforsten. Ich habe neulich kurz angedeutet, daß ich gerade etwas Familienforschung betreibe über zwei Urgroßonkel, die in die USA ausgewandert sind. Ich weiß, daß es saublöd ist, immer nur Andeutungen zu schreiben, aber ich muß das mal komplett in einem langen Beitrag schreiben. Auf jeden Fall habe ich wahnsinnig tolle Fotos gefunden, u.a. dies hier von der Mutter und den Schwestern der Auswanderer, ich schätze es auf 1905-1910:
Today I was at my parents to celebrate my mother’s birthday. I took the chance to rummage about old boxes and albums. For a couple of weeks I’ve been looking for two great-uncles of mine (brothers of my great grandmother), who emigrated into the USA. I’ll soon write a long posting about this. Frankly: I found this photo of the mother and sisters of the emigrated uncles, taken ca. 1905-1910.

1.Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand?

Higher Quality is great but expensive. I love pure wool, but a little bit of poly-xy is okay. I don’t like pure silk.

2.Do you spin? Crochet?

Since two months I have a spinning wheel. I don’t like to crochet.

3.What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?

For my needles I use a �Regia Box� (that’s a simple metal box)

4.How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?

I’m knitting since 29 years. My level: intermediate. With every project I learn something new!

I’m sorry: I hate candles with any scent! And I don’t like any flavoured bath products.

Es ist schon eine komische Koinzidenz: seit mein Blog auf der Teilnehmerliste von Secret Pal 7 auftaucht, sind hier die Spam-Kommentatoren unterwegs, also seit heute Nacht bis gerade eben 25 Spam-Einträge. Bisher war ich davon verschont und habe deshalb auch nicht gewußt, daß meine wundervolle Software Spam-Kommentare automatisch erkennt: prima! Ich kann sie mit einem Klick alle auf einmal löschen. Mich würde interessieren, ob die Spam-Welle bei den anderen SP7-Teilnehmern auch gerade jetzt begonnen hat.

Welcome to you! It’s already a funnny coincidence: since my blog is on the list of participants of SP7 the spam-commentators are on the way, thus since tonight to just now 25 spam-entries. Now I know that my wonderful blog-software recognizes spam-comments automatically: great! I can delete it all at once with one click. I’m interested to know whether the �spam-wave� began on the other SP7-participants-blogs just now too.
